Our E-Commerce SEO Services
At DPOM, we specialise in e-commerce SEO services tailored for online retailers, recognising the unique challenges of selling products through search. With a focus on revenue-driving solutions, our skilled team leverages deep e-commerce knowledge and platform-specific SEO strategies to enhance your product visibility, drive qualified traffic, and increase sales, ensuring your store achieves long-term growth.
Our service includes all aspects of e-commerce SEO management, including:

Product & Category Keyword Research
Effective e-commerce SEO starts with finding the right commercial-intent keywords. We research what your customers actually type when they are ready to buy, from broad product terms to long-tail queries like specific model names, sizes, and variations. Every keyword is mapped to the right product or category page.
We analyse competitor product rankings, search volumes, and buyer intent to build a keyword strategy that drives revenue. By targeting high-intent terms across your product catalogue, we help your store appear where it matters most: in front of shoppers who are ready to purchase.

Product Page Optimisation
Your product pages are where search traffic becomes revenue. We optimise every element that matters: product titles, meta descriptions, unique product descriptions, image alt text, and internal linking. We also implement product schema markup so your listings can display prices, availability, and review stars directly in search results.
Well-optimised product pages not only rank higher but convert better. We ensure each page is structured for both search engines and shoppers, with clear information, fast load times, and a seamless path to purchase that turns organic visitors into paying customers.

Technical E-Commerce SEO
E-commerce websites face unique technical challenges that can make or break your search visibility. We tackle site speed optimisation, crawl budget management, faceted navigation issues, canonical tags, and pagination to ensure search engines can efficiently discover and index your entire product catalogue.
We also implement structured data for products, breadcrumbs, and organisation markup, fix duplicate content caused by filters and sorting, and optimise your XML sitemaps for large product inventories. The result is a technically sound store that search engines love to crawl and rank.

E-Commerce Content Strategy
Content is what turns an online store into an authority in its niche. We create buying guides, product comparison articles, detailed category descriptions, and blog content that targets purchase-intent keywords your competitors are missing. Every piece is designed to attract shoppers at different stages of the buying journey.
By building out content that answers real buyer questions and supports your product pages, we help your store rank for hundreds of additional search terms. This approach drives a steady stream of qualified organic traffic while building the topical authority that search engines reward with higher rankings.
We are experts in providing SEO services across multiple platforms including:

Our E-Commerce SEO Approach
Once you sign up for our e-commerce SEO service, we will follow a clear and structured process to improve your product and category visibility in organic search. The steps we take will depend on your platform, product catalogue, and current situation. For example, if you already have solid technical foundations or existing optimisation in place, our starting point may vary slightly. Our goal is to make sure your online store is set up for strong long-term revenue growth from day one

Step 1
Onboarding & Store Audit
We start with a thorough review of your online store, including your platform, product catalogue, existing rankings, and competitor landscape. Your dedicated e-commerce SEO specialist will audit your site architecture, product pages, and technical setup, combined with an onboarding questionnaire. We identify your highest-value product categories, target keywords, and what a profitable sale looks like so the whole strategy is built around revenue results that matter to your business.

Step 2
Product & Category Keyword Research
Next we carry out detailed keyword research focused on commercial and purchase intent. This includes product-specific terms, category keywords, long-tail product queries and comparison searches your ideal buyers are using. We review the competitors who already rank well for your key products, analyse their content and product SEO, and map the best keywords to the right product and category pages on your site. This gives us a clear plan of what needs to be created, improved, and expanded to win more organic sales.

Step 3
Tracking, Analytics & Revenue Attribution
Before we make changes we put proper measurement in place. We ensure your e-commerce tracking is set up correctly in Google Analytics, configure revenue attribution for organic search, and set up rank tracking for your most important product keywords. We also record baseline rankings, organic revenue, and traffic levels for your key product categories. This means you can clearly see the revenue impact of our e-commerce SEO work over time.

Step 4
Technical SEO & Platform Optimisation
Using the research from earlier stages we optimise your store so it is easy for search engines to crawl and index every product. This includes fixing site speed issues, improving mobile performance, resolving faceted navigation problems, implementing proper canonical tags, and optimising XML sitemaps for your product catalogue. We ensure your platform is technically sound so you have a solid foundation for long-term e-commerce growth.

Step 5
Product Schema & Rich Results
Product schema markup is crucial for standing out in search results. We implement structured data across your product pages so search engines can display prices, availability, review stars, and other rich snippets directly in the results. We also set up breadcrumb schema, organisation markup, and FAQ schema where relevant. This enhanced visibility in search results drives higher click-through rates and puts your products in front of more ready-to-buy shoppers.

Step 6
Category & Product Page Optimisation
With the foundations in place we then optimise the pages that will actually rank and convert. This includes writing unique category descriptions, optimising product titles and meta data, improving internal linking architecture, and ensuring every important page has the content it needs to rank. Each page is structured for both search engines and shoppers, with clear paths to purchase. The goal is simple: more organic traffic landing on pages that drive sales.

Step 7
User Behaviour & Conversion Analysis
After the initial work we focus on collecting meaningful data about how shoppers interact with your store. We analyse how visitors navigate your site, which products attract organic traffic, where shoppers drop off in the purchase journey, and which categories convert best. We also review search queries in Google Search Console to understand exactly what buyers are searching for when they find your products.

Step 8
Ongoing E-Commerce SEO Optimisation
Using real data we refine and expand the strategy. This can include improving underperforming product pages, optimising new products as they are added to your catalogue, targeting seasonal keywords, adjusting internal linking, and updating meta data across your store. We continuously monitor your product rankings and competitor activity to ensure your store maintains and grows its organic visibility throughout the year.

Step 9
Monthly Report & Growth Strategy
Each month we provide a clear report that focuses on what matters: revenue from organic search, product keyword rankings, and category visibility. We walk you through changes in organic traffic, conversion rates, top-performing products, and the actions we have taken. We then agree the next set of priorities together so the campaign always reflects your goals, seasonal opportunities, and any new products or categories in your store.

Step 10
Long-Term Revenue Growth
Over time your e-commerce SEO campaign becomes more powerful as we build on what works and phase out what does not. We continue to expand your product range visibility, target new keyword opportunities, and build category authority across your niche. The compound effect of consistent e-commerce SEO means your organic revenue grows steadily, reducing your dependence on paid advertising and building a sustainable competitive advantage.

E-Commerce SEO Frequently Asked Questions
New to e-commerce SEO? Here are our frequently asked questions! If you’d like to ask more, just contact our SEO team!
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) makes it possible for people to find you in organic search results without having to pay for ads. SEO still requires investment and time but as a long-term marketing strategy, it has some of the best ROI available. As optimisation progresses, you get more organic traffic and more traffic = more customers and revenue.
SEO isn’t just about ranking for 1 or a handful of super competitive keywords. It’s about understanding the market in which you operate and ranking for 100’s or even 1000’s of search terms that your potential customers use when buying your products. Spoiler: Only a minority of customers use that big obvious term that you’re thinking about. In fact, 70% of searches online come from what is known as ‘long-tail keywords’ which means more specific sets of terms usually more than 3 words long. For example the term “jeans” might have lots of volume, but it’s incredibly competitive. However, when you consider that search terms such as “blue jeans 32-inch waist ” and 1000’s of other variations in aggregate equal more search volume AND are more specific, they indicate a customer is more ready to buy and as such, lead to more sales. Going Niche is the key to any successful SEO campaign.
Link schemes are against Google Webmaster Guidelines and can result in penalties including permanent exclusion from Google. We do however create compelling content which attracts natural links that helps increase your visibility. It is important to remember that links are just one of over 500 factors when it comes to ranking well. If you want to obtain links, you need to create content that people WANT to link too.
Not only does quality content attract natural links, it helps search engines like Google and Bing understand more about your website and what search terms to rank you for. All of our SEO packages include content creation (like a blog for example) as standard – it is critical to achieving increased visibility.
SEO is a long term marketing activity. It usually takes several months to see notable performance increases and performance usually increases as the months and years go on. SEO is a perpetual marketing activity: if you stop, you fall behind.
Yes. In fact, over the long term, it has some of the best ROI out there. However, patience is key and you must expect it to take several months to really start delivering results. Beware of SEO agencies offering quick results: They may be engaging in practices that do not conform to Google Webmaster Guidelines which could result in your site getting a ranking penalty or even permanent exclusion from search results.
