Case study: London Private Investigators · Website design
A website case study: how we designed, built and host the website for London Private Investigators, on Nova CMS.
About the client
London Private Investigators Ltd is a private investigation firm based in London. Its website says the company is led by former military personnel and works for private clients, businesses, solicitors and public sector organisations, across London and the UK.
The work it describes is surveillance, background checks, evidence gathering, people tracing, employee misconduct and fraud enquiries, and technical counter-surveillance, which is the sweeping of homes, vehicles and offices for listening devices and hidden cameras. It also covers public sector problems such as fly-tipping, rail and cable theft and the theft of public assets.
People who need an investigator are often making an uncertain and private decision, usually for the first time. They want to know what is lawful, what it will involve and whether they can talk to someone before committing to anything. That shapes the whole website: a plain explanation of each type of enquiry, and several quiet ways to get in touch.
DPOM designed and built the site, hosts it on its own server and runs it on Nova CMS. The firm is also a Google Ads client of ours.
What it needs to do
A site for this kind of business has two jobs that pull against each other. It has to be thorough enough that a solicitor or a company can see exactly what the firm does and how, and calm enough that someone frightened or anxious will pick up the phone.
It also has a lot of ground to cover. The firm works across private, corporate and public sector enquiries, and a person searching for one of them should land on a page about that and nothing else.
What we built
We designed and built the site around those jobs, on Nova CMS, and host it ourselves.
Each page is written for one kind of enquiry, so a visitor lands on the answer to their own situation.
The form sends the enquiry straight to the firm by email, with a hidden trap field that catches automated spam without asking visitors to solve a puzzle.
These are the pages that answer a nervous visitor's questions, and they give search engines the plain-language content they look for.
We keep the hosting, security and backups running.
How it performs
For a site people may open on a phone in a hurry, the home page shows its largest content in 1.4 s on a slow phone connection. We measured this ourselves; we have not been given the site's traffic or enquiry figures, so this page does not quote any.
Measured by DPOM on 17 October 2026 with a headless Chromium browser on our own server, on a first visit with our own and third-party tracking blocked, median of three runs. The phone figure is a 390 pixel screen on a slow 4G connection with a CPU four times slower than normal; the desktop figure is a 1440 pixel screen with no throttling.
What the client said
They built us a fantastic new website that looks professional and works exactly how we wanted, and they’ve been managing our Google Ads campaign throughout.

It is a 50-page service website for a London private investigation firm, with a page for each type of enquiry, guides, FAQs, case study write-ups and three ways to get in touch.
DPOM designed and built it, and hosts it on our own server. It runs on Nova CMS, so the business can edit its own text, images and menus from the page itself.
