Google Search filter ‘Panda’ is going to be receiving an update in the coming weeks.
SMX Advanced was held last night and Google’s Gary lllyes announced that the latest Panda update is imminent – It is expected that the update will land within the next four weeks.
The update was referred to by Illyes multiple times as a ‘data refresh’ – not as an algorithm change.
So the update could see sites that have been suffering from the Panda algorithm make a recovery once it lands. Illyes also explained that it’s in Google’s best interests to maintain fresh data. So these types of updates update will most likely come on a regular basis.
I’m sure there will be more news to report once the change takes place.
