Reports are being made that Wix websites are currently not being indexed or ranked by Google. Wix, the cloud based web development platform, is quite popular with small businesses trying to gain an online presence.
Google’s John Mueller has commented on the situation in a support thread, which confirms Google are acknowledging the issue, he said “We’re working on resolving things here on our side in the meantime”. “One thing that you might notice is that we’ll be re-crawling there sites a bit faster to get the dropped pages back into the index a bit faster”.
John also confirmed that Google are taking a more detailed look at the set up of these sites so that this problem will stop occurring. With Google actively seeking to resolve this problem the most obvious & probably best option for anyone using the Wix service is to sit tight and wait for all of this to blow over.
